Enwrapped in Pages

I am new. Please bear with me, while I get set started.

I Will See You in Heaven - Jack Wintz

My mom gave me this book, shortly after I lost my beagle baby to cancer. It's a very nice little book for a keepsake. It has a presentation page, and a nice hardcover. The content is simple, but inspiring. I have it four stars because I would have liked it to have some colored pictures, or something throughout the book.

Baree, Son of Kazan

Baree, Son of Kazan - James Oliver Curwood Heartbreaking and beautiful. His books alway make me cry, but leave me feeling hopeful.

Drinking with Dead Women Writers

Drinking with Dead Women Writers - Elaine Ambrose, A.K. Turner It was alright. I thought that the concept was great. I just wish that it was executed better.

Kazan

Kazan - James Oliver Curwood This book was very well written. I had a problem with a few parts that were inaccurate about wolf behavior, but other than that I loved it!

Daughter of the Forest (The Sevenwaters Trilogy, Book 1)

Daughter of the Forest (The Sevenwaters Trilogy, #1) - Juliet Marillier I loved this book! It's such a poignant retelling of "Wild Swans" by Hans Christian Andersen. I highly recommend!

A Dog's Journey

A Dog's Journey - W. Bruce Cameron I think I loved this as much as the first book!

WOMEN WHO RUN WITH THE WOLVES

Women Who Run with the Wolves - Clarissa Pinkola Estés This book was very interesting. You don't have to buy into the whole Jungian interpretations to enjoy it. Some of it resonated with me, and some of it didn't, but, as a literature major, I found it fascinating, and I loved the myths/stories alone. I gave it four stars because it was too repetitive at times for my liking.

A Dog's Purpose

A Dog's Purpose - W. Bruce Cameron "I laughed. I cried. It moved me, Bob."

The Valley of Horses (Earth's Children, Book Two)

The Valley of Horses - Jean M. Auel I'm loving this series, although, I could do without the caveman porn.

Dreams of Joy: A Novel

Dreams of Joy - Lisa See I love Lisa See's writing. This book is especially good when read with it's prequel, Shanghai Girls.

The Vanishing of Katharina Linden: A Novel

The Vanishing of Katharina Linden - Helen Grant A very enjoyable mystery story.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, Book 1)

The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins So, here is what I thought. This was a very entertaining story. I think that the romance was too contrived. It is a young adult fiction, so I sort of expect that, but it doesn't mean that I should expect that. Collins could have done a better job on that. Also, I was hoping for a bit more development in certain areas, and a more "in your face" to the Capitol ending, but there are two more books, so I'm sure that will come later. The writing could have been more polished as well. Other than that, I really enjoyed it. It has themes of redemption, loyalty, and forgiveness, and being set in a culture of death, I think that this book is very relevant to today's society.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Oz #1)

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (Oz #1) - L. Frank Baum This is a wonderful children's book! I had forgotten how different it is from the movie!

The Lovely Bones

The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold Loved this!

New Moon (Twilight Saga, Book 2)

New Moon - Stephenie Meyer Even worse than the first. NO MAS!

Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)

Twilight - Stephenie Meyer One of the worst books I've ever read in my life. Edward is incredibly hot (and a stalker). Bella is adorably clumsy (and so co-dependent it is sickening).
